Dawn "Tigox" MacGregor-Bromfield, the eldest of three girls for my Jamaican father and Dominican mother, am a poet and writer who was born in July 1961 and raised in London, England. I came to live in Jamaica in the early 1970's. Inspired by the beauty of the country and its people, I started writing poetry and found that I had the aptitude to write at will. I have two sons and a passion for technology.
I am a Computer Systems Specialist, a System Administrator of a public High School, a Director of Information Technology at a private High School, and a freelance computer trainer. I switched my career to Advertising, in 2014 and returned to the Education sector at the end of 2017.
I, who play the piano and taught others to play the instrument, also dance (creative dancing) and sing. I have written a few songs too.
One of my favourite projects with my poetry, was producing my CD "Mesmerize". This is a compilation of me reading some of my most noted poetry with Jamaican created rhythms and songs in the background. Took me 3 years to complete, but it was worth it.
I now write short stories that encourage and motivate. Another turn in my creative path. Currently a total of 11 books on Amazon.com and have been both Internationally awarded and have gotten a JCDC medal for one of my poems over the years.
The gathering of years of creativity, has now taken me to my new infused career, advertising/ ICT and marketing. I am amongst creative minds, quite a surreal experience.

Friends and schoolmates capitalised on my talent by requesting poems for their boyfriends and for gifts to family members. They would furnish details and I would put these into poetic form.

Friends and schoolmates capitalised on my talent by requesting poems for their boyfriends and for gifts to family members. They would furnish details and I would put these into poetic form.
I continue to be inspired. A major milestone for me was when I joined a group of ladies who wanted to find new ways to raise funds for underprivileged children's education. My idea was to have a poetry evening with both professional and new poets. Since 2005 Easter, this annual event has been a success and has assisted thousands of young children with books, lunch money, transportation assistance, school fees and other related expenses that ensure they too have an opportunity to be educated.
Throughout the years as I matured, so did my poetry. The Tigox collection covers a wide range of topics. The poems help to put a smile on a depressed face, comfort the disheartened, or help someone to put into words what they feel, but don't know how to express.
In 2002 I was presented with an award from the International Society of Poets acknowledging me as a Poet of Merit.

Persons have contracted me, 'TIGOX', to write personalized poetry for gifts, funeral programs, wedding invitations and other special occasions.

The Lord has given me the gift to take people to another dimension and forget their stresses. I have had many experiences, have many unique stories and have met and interacted with thousands of interesting people.... enabling my poetry to be multi-dimensional. I am a motivational speaker whose first motivational book, "My car from Heaven" inspired many to step out and take risks in confidence.
